AWEIL, 21 January 2014 [Gurtong] - A member of Parliament at National Legislative Assembly in Juba, Akuar Gamar, has said that the progress on Aroyo, Awada and Bar Mayen remains a big challenge and unpredictable to the Africa Kongdai company as well as the community as the remaining part of the work is still vast and the company is running out of date.

Gamar who represents Aweil Centre County (Aroyo) echoes out his concerns following his visit to the county and found out that the work was still lagging behind with few days left for the company to complete the task as per the contract.

In the special interview with local media in the state, Akuar says that he is worried of when the company can finish the remaining part of work and hand it over to the community within the agreed period as he says April 1st 2014 is knocking at the door.

“As I was visiting home upon my return from Juba, I only noticed that the work was still huge to complete with the remaining two months. Most parts of the work that were included in the agreement are still impassable and which is something that worries someone like me who is bound to be updating public on such issues,” Gamar told local press upon his return to the site where the work was is ongoing.

The legislator appeals to the company to speed up work in his area as the rainy season is approaching.

“According to my observation on the work’s progress, I think it is going to take sometime before it reaches where it was supposed to go to, so, at this juncture, I would like to urge and appeal to the contracted company [Africa Kongdai] to speedily do their work as the agreement date is approaching closely,” he added.

Gurtong could not immediately reach Africa Kongdai for comments on when they can finish the works.
