The State Peace coordinator William Kolong confirmed the arrival of the chiefs to Gurtong on Wednesday.

“As I talk to you, there are already 130 chiefs and paramount chiefs from Rezeigat tribe in Gok-Machar coming to attend the border peaceful migration conference that is annually held prior to the migration of Rezeigat to NBGS, a kind of amicable and transparent migration,” Kolong said.

The coordinator also confirmed that the delegation from Rezeigat was accompanied by women representatives coming to partake in the conference.

He said 120 chiefs and paramount chiefs from NBGS’ Aweil west, central and north counties will host their Rezeigat colleagues.

The coordinator also confirmed that the delegation from Rezeigat was accompanied by women representatives coming to partake in the conference.

“As I said earlier, this conference is going to be different from the previous ones held annually; we have already received a delegation from Rezeigat accompanied by their women representatives to take part in this vital conference on things to do with women.

“The chiefs of the three counties are taking part in this conference because their areas are the ones mainly used as routes,” he explained.

The three day Conference is starting today is under the theme: ‘Soft Border Management and Peaceful Migration between Rezeigat and Dinka Malual.’

After the three days, the chiefs are expected to agree on what conditions to be followed for this migration.
