BOR, 31 March 2016 [Gurtong] – Hon. Isaac Mamer Ruk, the Commissioner of Bor County in an interview with Gurtong on Thursday in Bor town said the County authority in collaboration with UNMISS are preparing to open up feeder roads connecting the five Payams of Bor County.
“We have a project with UNMISS and probably next week they will start grading the roads from Pawkau junction to Anyidi and Pibor road. And when it reaches the junction of Mareng, it will be very simple for me to take it from there and divert it to Kolnyang Payam headquarters”, he said.
Meanwhile the road construction connecting Bor County to Twic East is also under progress.
A distance of 38 kilometres has been covered from Bor town to the border of Baidit and
“We are in Aduar, a blind stream of River Nile. After another, I hope we will reach to Jalle Payam headquarters and when we reach our border with Twic East, we will come back to open roads from Makuach and to Kolnyang Payams”, he assured.
Last month, the National Action Relief and Development [NARD] with support from the United Nations Mission in South Sudan [UNMISS] handed over a Resource Centre to the Youth of Bor County, constructed through a quick impact project program of 2014/2015 in the region.
