Imatong State Records Improvement In SSCE Examinations

Imatong State has recorded a slight improvement in the South Sudan Certificate of Secondary Education performance for Imatong State for 2015 that was announced by the State Education, Gender and Social Welfare Ministry.

18 Secondary Schools in the State had 831 candidates in its official registry for the 2015 SSCE examination.

The State Education Minister, Hon. Jacob Atari Albano said the State facilitated 14 examination centres where 826 out of the 831 registered candidates successfully sat for their examination whereby 577 candidates passed with 70 percent.

The Director for examinations, Genesis Ohide Otelmoi said among those who sat for the exams were 607 females and 219 males.

Speaking while announcing the State official results in Torit, last Thursday, the Education minister said there has been a slight improvement in performance compared to the previous two years though much effort is still required by School managers and candidates.

In 2014, the State registered 684 candidates however only 678 successfully sat for the exam in comparison to that of 2013 in which 666 candidates were registered but only 656 turned up for the exams.

Nyongwa Secondary School in Pageri County performed poorly among other schools in Imatong State.

Among top ten best students in the exams are;

Taban James Adauto from Fulla SS School in Pageri scored 83.6%

Daniel Deng Mabiel from Fulla SS School in Pageri scored 82.4%

Bol Joseph Kuer from Fulla SS School in Pageri scored 82.3%

James Oketa-yot Taban from Magwi SS School in Magwi scored 82.0%

Mawadri Jimmy Isaac from Fulla SS School in Pageri scored 81.9%

John Majok Manyok  from Stars of Hope SS school in Pageri scored 80.5%

Mark Asobasi Dominic from Fulla SS school in Pageri scored 80.1%

Lagu Elias Joseph from Loa SS School in Pageri scored 80.0%

Madit Michael Malang Fulla SS School in Pageri scored 79.9%

Gabriel Deng Reuben from Lobone SS School in Pageri 79.3%

The best 10 female candidates for the just declared results were,

Eimani Scovia Amoko from Fulla SS School in Pageri scored 76.8%

Tata Ibrahim Jenaba from St.Matthew SS School in Ikwoto scored 73.3%

Nancy Imoya Osman from Dr. John Garang SS School in Torit) scored 72.5 %

Mary Aker Ajang from Nimule Model SS School in Pageri scored 72.4%

Agusta Paul Biajo  from Torit Day SS School in Torit scored  71.7%

Monica Nyiel Achiek from Fulla SS school in Pageri scored 71.7%

Christine Ikuju Nelson from Dr.John Garang SS School in Torit scored 72.5%

Aciro Margaret Nicholas from Loa SS School in Pageri scored, 71.3%

Romans Alamarkab Abudinar from St. Matthew SS School in Ikwoto scored 70.9%

Imen Evaline Simon from Torit Day SS School in Torit scored 70.6%


Performance By Schools

Magwi SS School topped in Imatong State in 2015/2016 performance with 97.7% followed by Loa SS school whose pass percentage score is 91.4% while Mugali SS school took third position and Nimule Model SS school shared number 4 with Fulla SS school with 83.0% .

The Stars of Hope SS School became number 6 with percentage pass of 78.0% while Dr.John Garang SS and St. Matthew SS schools scored 76.6% taking 7th place.

Lobone and AIC Luther SS schools scooped position 9 and 10 with 64.9% and 62.8% respectively while  Owiny-Kibul, Borongole, Hiyala, Agola and Nimule SS schools obtained 62.0%, 57.0%,  54.8%, 53.9% and 51.0% taking positions 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 respectively.

Torit Day and St.Augustine SS schools ranked number 16 and 17 and they attained 48.4 and 44.4 percentage.

Pageri and Magwi Counties ranked number 1 and 2 in overall performance in the State while Ikwoto and Torit Counties became third and fourth.
