WANY-JOK, November 15, 2016 [Gurtong]- In the local order issued last Friday by Wanyjok town council authorities reducing the bus fare, the drivers claim that the reduction of fare has affected them severely as they are making no profits in their businesses.
Akok Bol Bak one of the drivers said the order was made without putting in consideration other factors.
“The order was made without considering the price of fuel in the market, it is even worse our vehicles are using so much fuel and the road is bad also. How can you work at a loss? No it is better for the municipal council to reverse its order” he said.
Muhammed Issa Adam another driver said the fluctuation of prices should not determine the reduction of fuel prices in the markets.
A member of parliament of Aweil East State Assembly, Hon. Mayor Teresa Aluat welcomed the decision of reducing bus fares.
She says the order is to ease the burden of citizens on payment of bus fares. She says drivers and vehicle owners should cooperate with the order.
“I am calling upon drivers and vehicle owners to accept the issuance of the local order this is to help our people. There is no reason to resist it. We are the government and we are for all business people and consumers” she said.
The Mayor warned that those who will go against the order will face some consequences.
