JUBA, 19 November 2016 [Gurtong] - Last week the Chief Executive Officer of Eye Media, a South Sudanese NGO managing Eye Radio, announced that the shutdown was due to a short news clip of Riek Machar played about a month ago when Machar was leaving Khartoum for South Africa.

In a statement, reeased by the station the management of Eye Radio announced that “they are pleased to inform our listeners and the general public that Eye Radio is back on air as of Saturday, 19 November 2016, from 9:00 am.”

“Matters concerning the recent shutdown of the station have been discussed and amicably resolved with authorities,” reads the statement.
