Security Operations Launched On Torit-Juba And Torit-Magwi Highways
Following continuous attacks on passengers on Torit-Juba and Torit-Magwi Highways, travels have been suspended along the two roads by Imatong Stare authorities as an operation to flash out the attackers have been launched.

TORIT, 08 January 2017 [Gurtong] – Torit Mayor, Eddy William Ponsiano announced last Thursday that the government is pursuing the attackers who have since looted and killed innocent civilians on the highways particularly on the Torit-Juba highway.
The Torit town authorities have revealed that both public and private travels have now been suspended until further notice.
The Mayor disclosed that the decision was reached following a joint security meeting held in Torit last week.
He clarified that the suspension will allow the State security agents carry out security operations.
The road users; passengers and drivers, have been advised to remain patient as the government was working to resolve the matter.
Last Wednesday, an attack on the Torit-Juba road near Lolere village a few kilometres from Torit town, left 2 people got killed and 6 others wounded including the driver.
The attacked bus carrying passengers, was heading to Juba from Torit, before it fell into an ambush which led to the deadly attack.
