WAU, 08 March 2017 [Gurtong] –
Majak who was born on 1st November 1940 in a village called Awac in South Sudan was appointed on 2nd November 1995 as the Bishop of Wau Diocese in Western Bahr el Ghazal State and ordained on 11 February 1996.

He was then on April 22, 1992 appointed as the Apostolic Administrator of Wau Catholic Church.

In February 2013 before his illness which was his last mass prayer in Wau St. Mary Catholic Church, Majak urged all local communities in South Sudan particularly in Western Bahr el Ghazal State to embark on dialogue as a means to achieve stability, peace and harmony in the country.

He said that religious leaders should coordinate believers in the State in order to influence peace and reconciliation.

Bishop Majak was also the chairman for the religious leaders for peace and reconciliation initiative in resolving the Wau crisis in 2012.
