The event was organized by Rock Stars Promotions with support from United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and was aimed at bringing South Sudanese youth together to realize their role in peace building through music and dance as vehicles for sending messages of peace, hope, togetherness and love.

Stand up for Peace Dance Competition also aimed at sending messages of respect for human rights and creating awareness against gender based violence.

The New Flag Dancers were awarded a golden trophy and medals for each dance while White Moon Dancers who finished second won a silver trophy for the group and a separate trophy for dancers.

Empire Dancers finished in third place in the competition.

The dance competition brought together youth who also got the chance to understand the UNMISS’s mandates regarding protection of civilians, monitoring and investigating human rights violations, and creating conducive conditions for delivery of humanitarian assistance.

Awareness about UNMISS mandates was created through questions where the winners were awarded UNMISS bags containing detailed information about UNMISS.
