Secondary School Exams Kicks Off In South Sudan’s Wau State

Over 1,000 candidates have begun their secondary school final exams in Wau today.

WAU, 13 February 2018 [Gurtong]-According to the Director General in the State Ministry of Education, the number of candidates sitting for the exams this year is higher compared to last year.

He said out of the 1, 472 students, 427 are female while 1,045 are male candidates.

Mr. Luciano Alberto Urayo however said there were some delays in delivering the examination materials on time from Juba.

“The examinations have started in a good way in which it began in an excellent process despite some people saying that the exams would be late,” he said.

“This year, the number of students sitting for the exams is higher than the one of last year because this year there has been good security. The total number of students is 1,472. The girls are 427 and the boys are 1045,” he added. The turnout is very good and this is the largest centre. This centre number (2) and it is a big centre, we have 27 secondary schools with 4 examination centers,” said Urayo.
