WAU, 27 February 2018 [Gurtong] - The text books that included mathematics and English books were about 1,126 in total.

Speaking during the handover ceremony held in Wau the State Minister of Education, Michael Madut Chan appreciated the good gesture from the people of Bangladesh.

“Yes we are celebrating the distribution of 1, 126 books for the pupils of Wau (A) girls primary school, this has been donated to us by Bangladesh and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Bangladesh battalion for the gift they gave to the people of Wau State and pupils of Wau [A] girls in particular,” said Chan.

Mary Gabreil Thurba, headmistress of Wau (A) girl’s primary school also welcomed the donation.
“For sure we are very happy with the gift from the people of Bangladesh. This is very important for our school. In our school, you can get one book shared by 10 to 15 pupils. This will not help the pupils or teachers to continue with their study plan in short time.  And so this is a good thing that has come at a good time, we are very happy,”  said Thurba.
