More Troops Required For Disarmament Exercise In Western Lakes

The chairperson of national dialogue committee in Rumbek, Lual Achuil is urging the national government in Juba to send more troops to the area to complete the on-going disarmament process.

RUMBEK, 12 April 2018 [Gurtong]-Speaking during his closing remarks in a meeting organised by traditional leaders, political parties, civil societies and faith based groups at Akon Buoi Hall, said the people of Western Lakes State are in need of total disarmament.

"I learned one thing from many people since I arrived here both women, young and elderly and that's all about disarmament of Gelwong armed youth in Western Lake State, so that people are able to have peace and cultivate freely in their farms" said Lual.  
The participants of the meeting raised major challenges and difficulties affecting the grass root Population such as poor roads, Insecurity and hunger.

The Chairperson of the African National Congress (ANC), Gabriel Kuc Abiei said that the government has lost the national character and it is in dilemma of which direction, it should go.

Mr. Kuc urged the opposition not to opt for rebellion whenever they are frustrated in the government.

"Going to the bush to fight the government is not the only option, so let us work for change through elections and dialogue," said Kuc.
