FAO, AFORD Launches Seeds Distribution Targeting 3000 Beneficiaries In Wau state

FAO in collaboration with AFORD organization in Wau have launched seeds and fishing kits distribution targeting 3000 households in the State.

WAU, 24 April 2018 [Gurtong]-While addressing the beneficiaries, Wau State deputy Governor, Zacharia Garang assured the farmers of good security for those who will be involved in farming outside the town.

“What is important to us is to offer you good security, there should be good security to you in the areas that you are farming, we have now offered yousecurity and we are working more especially in the site of Southern, northern and Western Wau. We need you to take care of your seeds that you are receiving now and make your plan to go for farming,” said Garang.

On his part, Wau State farmers’ representative, Donato Zaro appreciated the initiative taken by FAO and AFORD to provide them with farming seeds. He also urged the beneficiaries not to sell their seeds but to make use of them.

“On behalf of the farmers of Wau North Payam, I would like to appreciate FAO and AFORD for having organized these companies for agriculture in this season in Wau State. Again I give thanks to FAO for providing us with the seeds and fishing kits. We the farmers are very happy for the support,” said Zaro.
