Kose Gworit, the Commissioner of Lobonok County said one of the deceased was First Lieutenant who worked as the bodyguard of the Vice President Dr. James Wani Igga.

According to Kose Gworit, he was travelling back to Lobonok County when they found the casualties whom they rushed back to Juba for medical treatment.

“This week we have been experiencing killings here in Lobonok County. Yesterday at ten O’clock in the morning, a passenger   vehicle was traveling to Juba with the Vice President’s First lieutenant, John Jada Wani. They were attacked and three people were killed and two injured. One of the deceased was a woman whose three-year-old child was found unconscious beside the body,” said Commissioner Gworit.

He said the vehicle was traveling to Juba from Lobonok County, eleven miles from Juba City.

He said it was not the first time his people have been Killed and looted in the area. He said some of the attackers were identified by one of the survivors to be leaving in Konyo-Konyo area.

“These criminals come from the city to loot and kill my people in Lobonok. This is the sad thing that happens to my people every time,” the commissioner said.

He blamed the attack on child abductors operating in the neighboring community.

“I would like to advice my fellow South Sudanese to stop abducting people’s children, stop looting and killing. Everyone should produce their children. It is not good when you take someone else’s child. You kill the parents and take the child, that is evil,” he added.
