3 Wounded In Attempted Cattle Raid In Western Lakes State

3 people were on Monday wounded and five cows killed during an attempted cattle raid in Western Lakes State.

RUMBEK, 22 September2018 [Gurtong]-
The Commissioner of Eastern Bahr Naam County of Western Lakes State, Mabor Makuac Ater confirmed that the attackers were armed Youth from neighboring Aluakluak County of Eastern Lakes State.

“The raiders came and surrounded the house at night, firing bullets on people after they were detected by the cattle owners.” Said Ater.

“The armed Youth of Eastern Lakes State are disturbing the communities of Western Lakes State especially the armed youth of Aluakluak, they have been frequently attacking, killing and raiding cattle from Akot and Atiaba of Eastern Bahr Naam County.” He added.

The Commissioner stressed that the community of Eastern Bahr Naam County of Western Lakes State are facing numerous challenges of road ambushes, killings and cattle raiding on a daily basis.
