Tonj Authority Deploys Police Forces Along Its Border with Gok State

A contingency of police forces have been deployed along Gok and Tonj States in particular areas where motorist have been frequently attacked.

WAU, 22 September 2018 [Gurtong] –
Major General James Madut Ngor said the police were deployed in an area known as Ater-Moj along Tonj, Gok high way to contain the security situation.

“Deploying police forces in this area would help the authority to crackdown on criminals that have been carrying out looting and road side attacks and cattle raiding in Ror-Chuol Akol forest. Now we are at the station of Ror-Chuol Akol forest, the operation area, the forces have been deployed here to protect the civilians from the criminals. This forest is very big and thick and the criminals have been using it to carry out their activities,” he told Gurtong in an interview on this week.

He said the forces will be escorting travellers to their destinations. He also pointed out that the forces deployed will apprehend anyone who tries to attack vehicles on the highway.
