Robbers Loot Goods Worth Hundreds Of Thousands At Marol Market, Bor

The Jonglei State Chamber of commerce says burglars have looted at least two shops at Marol market over the weekend.

-Speaking to Gurtong, the Spokesman for Jonglei State Chamber of Commerce, Mabior Kuol Ajook said the looted goods could roughly be worth over 600,000 South Sudanese pounds.

Mabior Kuol says business people are taxed monthly for security but their shops are still looted in the presence of the police.

“We pay 300 to 500 South Sudanese pounds to Bor town police station for our shops to be protected from the robbers at night”, Ajook said.

He added that the police is yet to launch an investigation in order to establish the mastermind behind the weekend robbery.

Around 30 patrolling police officers are assigned to offer security at  Marol Market.
