W. J De King (WonLok James)
W J De King, Real names WonLok James is one of the most renowned South Sudanese Musician/artists born on 12th/April/1987 at a small village called Parajok-Magwi County in the Eastern Equatoria State, South Sudan.
Despite 21years being in the civil war of Sudan and also once being a child soldier, he has always kept his love and determination for music alive. His music career started the journey professionally in the year 2005 in a group known as freedom boys then later Lokwilili Kingdom which he is currently the head and branded with the name “W j De king of Lokwilili.
He has so far recorded a number of songs with up to Ten (10) Albums, all these by different audio producers from South Sudan like Jehu Sam, Bulder, and in Uganda with Producer Washington and others.
He has a number of collaborations with some South Sudanese and East African Artistes including; Jose Chameleon (Sudanese girl), Dr Hilderman(Dance pole pole), Jamal, Talis (Ana ligo), Washington & Rappy Nature(Lotole), Zizza Bafana(Bamba Dak), Goodlyfe (Salaama) and many more Artistes from South Sudan. He has knowledge in playing a Guitar and this has made it very easy for his producers since he gives them his own song rhythm.
W J De King has also performed in a number of shows / concerts in South Sudan and east Africa including Goodlyfe Radio and weasel one of the Music Album Launch at Serena Hotel Kampala in 2012.
In South Sudan, He has won a number of music awards including; Song of the year (Lokwilili) 2011, Best Artists of the year 2010/2011 and 2012, best Stage performer 2013 at the SOSA (South Sudan Music Awards).
W J De King has participated in a number of peace building campaigns including ‘the ambassadors of peace in East Africa, which was carried out in the Internally Displaced peoples Camp (IDPS) in Adjumani, Arua, Bweyale etc.
He has also been involved in the National Platform for Peace And reconciliation (NPPR) Peace caravan that is still running on from Nimule, Torit and proceeding to other parts of South Sudan in partnership with a women’s group known as the Women Grassroots.
W J De king is currently under the management of the HOUSE OF TALENT- SOUTH SUDAN management and promotion company based in Juba, South Sudan.
